A little of both. Having a little outside view on things can't hurt, but remember not to rely completely on what others tell you, they can never know your situations completely. :)
a little bit of both i recon..with advise you get to know what your infor sometimes but then its also good to go with your instinct too that way you learn first hand and thay way you also learn from your mistakes too...
