Up date on Corky's progress, and still requiring some advice.?

Since my last question I have been feeding Corky three times a day 10mls of formula (in a syringe at correct temp) and have placed weaning pellets at his disposal throughout the day, which he precedes to eat. Each night after his last feed I take the pellets out. Each morning he presents with an empty crop. Thank the Lord!! He has been putting weight on between 1 and 3 grams. My next worry is I don't think he is drinking water? I have been giving him some through the syringe just in case. Is this the right thing to do?Up date on Corky's progress, and still requiring some advice.?
Glad to hear that Corky is feeling better:)

Young birds in the nest don't drink water. All moisture is provided by the parents regurgitation or when handfeeding - from the formula.

Forcing water is never a good idea. They can easily aspirate the liquid.

Since Corky is weaning, he should have dry pellets and weaning food, along with a bowl of fresh water in his cage at all times.

I do not recommend using water bottle dispensers - ever. Most are made of plastic, which hold bacteria. The have float balls which often fail - causing all of the water to leak out, or fail to release the water at all.Up date on Corky's progress, and still requiring some advice.?
Just keep feeding him till he's ready to wean. In the book I'm reading it says a baby will wean them selves when they know it's time kinda like a baby will walk when they're ready. The formula has water in it and you don't let him get dehydrated so if you want to give him some water fine but he doesn't need it unless it gets hot.
