My friends are trying to hook me up with someone (blind date maybe?) anyone willing to give me advice?

You see, I dont think Im bad looking and people have told me im desirable (im not trying to be conceited/shallow *****) thing is i have really low confidence. Almost none. Especially with guys. I think its because i used to get teased because im sort of hairy like...yes hairy. Anyways recently my friend got a boyfriend and her friend is in process of getting one too. Thing is their 3 friends each and they want to hook me up with the one thats left. (as in we girls are three and friends, they are 3 and friends too) I dont know if to just go and expect rejection or just go thinking its just for fun...Im terrible at conversation too and that doesnt help. What does a shy girl need to do to bust this damned confidence up?? I hate how im so concerned with my physique and the fact im an manga/japan geek. I think guys dont like that...Im scared xD really. So I know about the confidence problem about talking (not so much any more), but not knowing if they are interested in going out in the first place.
